Problem with Gmail - White Screen

Something has apparently changed over at Gmail and has created a big problem for many Gmail users. Last week I opened up Internet Explorer and hit the little red and white Gmail envelope on my Google toolbar expecting Gmail to pop up like it always does.
What happened?
It acted like it was loading but all that showed up was a “white screen” - no email, no nothing!
Then about 30 minutes later my Father gave me a call and was having the same problem. We did fix this Gmail problem, so I thought I would share how we did it.
I don’t know if this fix will work with Firefox, since I don’t use that browser, but it does work with IE.
Here is how we fixed this Gmail problem:
In Internet Explorer click on the “Tools” => “Internet Options”. This brings up a dialogue box - click on the “General” tab. The second option on that tab is “Browsing History” - click the “Delete” button.
After you click the “Delete” button, a new box pops up - click the “Delete Files..” button next to the “Temporary Internet Files” section.
This will delete the cache and all the temporary internet files your system keeps when you go surfing.
This is all it took to fix the problem of the “white screen” we were both having with Gmail. I know many of my readers use Gmail, so I thought I would pass this along if you are having the same problem.

OK, this works until my temporary internet files have something in them again. Then it goes back to doing the same white screen. Anyone else have this same problem? It definitely fixes it temporarily, but not for long, for me.

I have the same problem on multiple PCs. Good to kow I’m not alone, but clearing the temporary internet files only fixes the problem for a few logins. Anyone know of a more permanant solution? I would assume Gmail knows about this and isworking on a fix, but this is very frustrating.

The temporary solution works. How does one contact gmail to get some position on a permanent solution ?

You know, you can just refresh the page after it is finished “loading” and there is no White Screen error on Firefox
