How to Get Started in Internet Network Marketing

In my book, there is no better way to build a network marketing business than to use the internet to literally attract new associates to you like a magnet. What I have seen is that people have a hard time getting started when they decide to build their business in this manner - there is simply to much information available and they wind up in paralysis by analysis and make not headway towards their goal.

If you want to generate 10 to 20 new leads a day into your marketing funnel, you need to focus on traffic generation to your landing page. Of course once the visitors lands on your page, you need to have the page carefully crafted to entice the person to hand over their email address and name so you can followup with them, but that is a subject for another day.

Traffic is the lifeblood of a internet mlm business, so lets take a look at two very simple ways that you can generate a flood of traffic to your pages.

Write Articles

I encourage all of my new team members to get started writing articles immediately. By writing quality articles and distributing them to the article distribution sites, they will benefit from instant traffic as they are published, and residual traffic over time as other sites pick up their articles and post them.

MySpace Marketing

Remember, network marketing is still based on relationships even if you are building your business on the internet. There is no better place to build relationships than many of the Web 2.0 sites that are popping. Of course the grand daddy of them all is MySpace. You don’t have to have any special web design skills to get your profile page set up and active. Get it made and then start making friends. Don’t hammer everyone with a heavy handed marketing approach - show value and people will be attracted to you naturally.

By using just these two simple techniques you will be able to start a regular flow of traffic to your landing pages. It is best not to get caught up in every new “traffic craze” that the gurus are trying to sell you on. Just stick to the basics and before you know it, you will have more leads than you have ever had and your team will be growing at a record pace!

Eliminate the Fear Of Rejection in Your MLM Business

Do you know what the biggest killer is of new MLM associates? The fear of rejection! Yes, it will strike every new team member, and your business, at some point in your growth. So lets talk a bit more about this killer and how to completely eliminate it.

The way most MLM organizations teach you to grow you team, and in fact the way I was taught to grow mine originally, is to work in your hot or warm market. Almost every organization teaches you to build a list of names, and start contacting them and introducing your business.

What happens very quickly is that you brand new baby associate starts hearing “no” - and if all they hear is “no” you are very lucky. Chances are what they will hear will be even worse, and much more critical. This is when they fear of rejection starts to set in, and will quickly kill their business if left unchecked.

The fear of rejection actually affects any person involved in sales. I have two young sons that are involved in Cub Scouts. Every year they sell popcorn for their primary fundraiser. This year the boys really wanted to work hard and sell tons of popcorn. So the first day we headed out into the neighborhood full of excitement.

Guess what happened? The first five houses we went to all said “no” to them. I could see their excitement beginning to diminish, they did not have the glimmer in their eye when we started. The good news is that we did start selling, and they quickly realized that they were getting more purchases than denials, and they kept at it and succeeded in meeting their goal!

Of course, in this example we are dealing with kids emotions. However, in MLM we are dealing with adults, and very real financial concerns and elements of personal pride.

For most new associates after they hear “no” or “are you crazy, this is a pyramid”, the fear of rejection will overcome them and they will disappear into the night never to return - and even more disturbing, their dreams are gone as well.

So how can you turn this around, and give your new associates a way to have more leads then they know what to do with? Get them started building a list of subscribers using the internet, and even better get plugged into a system that provides income, training, and leads.

By using the power of the internet you can literally build relationships with hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals. How do you do this? By having a high conversion landing page and an email autoresponder.

The autoresponder allows you to leverage you time and communicate your message with more people on a daily basis than you could ever communicate with face to face.

By using the internet to build your MLM business you are also completely eliminating the fear of rejection. If someone is not interested they will simply unsubscribe from you mailing list, but it won’t matter, because you will have added 3 new people to replace that one.

MySpace is Your Space for MLM Success

If you are looking for simple ways to start generating leads and growing your MLM business on the internet you really need to take a second look at using MySpace to grow your business.

When I first heard about MySpace I always thought it was only used by the younger, teenage and college crowd and there was really no serious exchange of information. After all it seems that every time you hear about some whacko on the news, they always show their MySpace page as a part of the story.

I was completely wrong. When I started digging into MySpace as a way to generate leads and form relationships with like minded individuals, I realized that there is a ton of excellent information available, and strong friendships to be formed inside of MySpace.

Here are a two tips to help you get started using MySpace to grow you MLM business:

1. Reach out and get involved. The fastest way to get involved with others on MySpace is to join a group. There are groups for just about any area of interest, and there are dozens just in the “making money” and “network marketing” area. Join some groups and get involved in the discussions.

2. Start sending messages to those that interest you. There are some really interesting profiles that have been created. Find one of a like minded individual and get the conversation rolling. Don’t just pitch your business from the start, think about creating a friendship first and then go from there.

Marketing on MySpace is a very powerful approach, but you have to be careful. The best way is to have a very nice profile page, keep it focused on your business, but don’t be afraid to show your personality as well. Remember, this is a social environment, and you need to have some fun as well as conducting business.

90 Day Plan for MLM Success

Recently I have discovered one aspect of growing your MLM business that I had never experienced before, but I had been warned about. As you team grows, as mine has very quickly over the last 30 days - it is very easy to slip into “management mode”.

This has happened to me. I was spending all of my time helping new associates get going, that I had completely ignored working on my own lead generation techniques. In the end what happened was that my pipeline was not full, and my entire business began to slow down. Without my own leads entering my funnel, I had significantly impacted the growth of my personal business.

So I sat down and formulated a 90 day plan of action to propel my MLM business to the next level. This plan is one that you can easily adapt to your own situation, so get busy and grow your business.

Here are the three steps of my personal plan for the next 90 days:

1. Video: Over the next 90 days I will produce one video of value each and every day. Some days I may do more than one, but at the end of 90 days I will have 90 new videos.

2. Articles: I will write 90 articles over the next 90 days. These will be posted on my blog and distributed to the article directories for instant and long term exposure.

3. Ebay: I will continue to generate free leads using eBay. This is a great way to generate leads at a profit, and the quality is very high as well.

As you can see, my plan does not include purchasing leads. Purchasing leads is something that I do not believe in for my business - and I would recommend against it for 99% of all people as a way to grow your business.

So there you have it, my 90 day plan for MLM growth. Feel free to copy it or adapt it to your personal business. I expect that at the end of 90 days, my team will be significantly larger. Furthermore, all these tactics have residual power that will continue to bring in traffic over a long period of time.
